About Me

I Lance Troupe have ben into hot rods for the better part of 58 years. Getting started at a very early age of seven years old I used to watch my older brother work on his cars, and his body's car. In 1958 I I spent the summer with him and his wife Johann. Lynn my brother had his friends come over to his house in Seattle Washington and work on their cars. One guy in particular had a 40 ford coupe with a 303 olds, running a 39 La sal 3 speed trans. I was hooked, lynn bought me a model by AMT of a 40 ford tudor sedan with a 394 olds engine. How cool that was to have a model, and guys would stop by with the real deal. I must be in Hevan?

Years passed and after I got out of the Navy in 1975, I went to school in southern California to learn auto trimming, and got my first job out of the Navy at Dave Highs Custom Auto Art,  (interiors for hot rods). Dave, being an old hot rodder, taught me many things I didn't know about hot rods, and introduced me to many hot rod legens. Like Gean Windfield, Tony Nancy, Any Coen, Kent Fuller, Jim Defrank, Joe Bailon the inventer of candy apple reds and many more, the list is long. I learned the ways of the first of many  of the people that lived, ate, and breathed, hot rods. Dave was one of the original many members of the Hard Times Car club, hanging out with dave I got to go I many, many, hot rod rod runs all over souther Cal.

This profile image is me in the Duece of Spades, wile Faith Granger is behind me in my own 32. Faith stayed at our home wile I made some custom hold down strapes for her car, ( the Duece of Spades ).
